Russ Young Appointed Boeing Capital Communications Director

Russ Young, 46, has been appointed director of communications for Boeing Capital Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA). In this newly created position he is responsible for internal and external communications, advertising and marketing communications for BCC in its drive to expand and diversify its asset portfolio around the world.

"This is an important time in the evolution of Boeing Capital Corp.," said Jim Palmer, the unit's president. "Many of our customers face unprecedented challenges, and as we enter new markets with new products and services, communicating clearly and consistently is vital. We're excited that Russ will lead our efforts to integrate our communications programs."

In his 15 years with Boeing, Young has held several communications positions in Boeing Commercial Airplanes and at the company's corporate headquarters. Most recently, he led communications on Boeing Commercial Airplanes' Sonic Cruiser program; prior to that assignment he planned and implemented communications programs associated with the in-service safety and performance of the Boeing commercial airliner fleet.

Boeing Capital Corp. is a worldwide provider of lease and loan financing for commercial aircraft, commercial equipment, corporate aircraft, and space and defense products. The unit has a 30-year history of providing and arranging financing for aircraft and heavy equipment, specializing in complex structures designed to meet the specific requirements of its customers.

Young will be based in Boeing Capital's Renton, Wash. Headquarters. Additional company offices are located in Long Beach, Calif.; Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; Brussels, Belgium; Hong Kong and Dublin, Ireland. He is a graduate of San Diego State University.
