The Boeing Company today announced the selection of Kristi Savacool for the newly created position of vice president and general manager of Boeing Shared Services Group - Puget Sound Region. The appointment was made by Laurette Koellner, Boeing senior vice president and president of Shared Services Group. Shared Services Group provides support services globally to the company.
Savacool currently is vice president, Commercial Airplanes Information Systems and CIO of Commercial Airplanes, based in Renton, Wash.
"Having Kristi in this new role will strengthen our support to Boeing business operations that have their headquarters in the Puget Sound region and those that have programs here," Koellner said. "She will work closely with our customers to make sure that we are contributing effectively to their business plans. Creating a Puget Sound region in Shared Services is a key step to delivering outstanding service to the newly restructured Boeing. We now serve all our customers through four regional operations -- which also include Southern California, St. Louis and Wichita - or through our headquarters in Bellevue, Wash."
The resources under Savacool's leadership include more than 6,000 people. Regional support activities that make up her organization include: Facilities; Information Production & Distribution; People Services; Safety, Health & Environmental Affairs; and Security & Fire Protection.
Information Systems and Supplier Management & Procurement will remain as enterprise-wide services. Savacool will provide regional-level integration, visibility and reporting of these services for customers in Puget Sound.

In her new role, Savacool will be the senior Shared Services executive assigned to business units with headquarters in the Puget Sound Region, including: Air Traffic Management, Boeing Capital Corporation, Commercial Airplanes and Connexion by Boeing..

Savacool has been with Boeing for 22 years. She joined the company in 1978 as a member of the Boeing Military Airplanes Engineering technical staff. Since that time, she has been a leader in Boeing Defense & Space Group Computing, Boeing Computer Services Quality, the Boeing/McDonnell Douglas Merger Transition Team, Shared Services and companywide Information Systems, and Commercial Airplanes Single Aisle Airplane Information Systems.
Savacool was named to her current position in 1999. She leads the Commercial Airplanes Information Technology Leadership Team, is a member of the Information Systems Process Council and chairs the Information Technology People Strategy Committee.
Savacool attended the University of Washington and is now completing a master's degree in business administration from Seattle University. She graduated from the executive leadership programs at Cornell University in 1995 and Seattle University in 1999. Savacool serves on the board of United Way of King County.
