Boeing Commercial Airplane Group today confirmed an order by United Airlines for one Boeing 747-400, six Boeing 767-300, and 16 Boeing 777-200 jets.
The new 747-400s will increase United's fleet of the wide-body jetliners to 51. The 16 new Boeing 777s will increase United's 777 fleet size to 52 jetliners. United was the launch customer for the 777 - the newest Boeing family of jetliners. With this order United will have a total of 37 Boeing 767-300s.
Deliveries of these jets are scheduled to begin the first quarter of 1999 and continue into 2002.
