The U.S. Air Force took delivery of its 33rd C-17 Globemaster III airlifter during a ceremony here today.
A crew from the 437th Airlift Wing flew the aircraft to its home base at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.
The Air Force C-17 fleet recently surpassed 60,000 flight hours. C-17s are also stationed at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.
This is the first C-17 delivered since the Boeing/McDonnell Douglas merger on Aug. 4, 1997.
