Statement on 737-200 Accident in Democratic Republic of the Congo

SEATTLE, April 30, 2009 -- Boeing has learned of an accident involving a 737-200 freighter in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Early reports indicate fatalities related to the April 29 accident. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the victims, to their family and friends, and to all who are affected by this accident. Boeing stands ready to provide technical assistance to the DRC government through the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.
