Boeing Names Spicer to Lead Boeing Kestrel Business Development
Former rear admiral to oversee expansion of security technology and service capabilities

ARLINGTON, Va., June 17, 2011 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today named retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Ray Spicer executive vice president of Strategy and Business Development for Boeing Kestrel -- a unit of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS).

"This appointment broadens Boeing's market experience and its leadership team to more proactively address the mission requirements of an important national security customer base," said Dewey Houck, Boeing vice president, Intelligence Systems. "Ray's experience will allow us to further develop and capitalize on Boeing Kestrel's growth opportunities."

Spicer joins more than 300 Boeing Kestrel professionals who provide products and services to more than 20,000 trained users of the Boeing Kestrel TAC software application and other offerings worldwide. In his new role, Spicer will focus on the development and introduction of expanded technology and service capabilities that build on Boeing Kestrel's real-time, collaborative information-sharing, analysis and decision-making offerings.

Boeing Kestrel products and services are used throughout the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community and the broader national security community, as well as by several other U.S. government agencies.

Spicer's leadership assignments with the Navy include commander, Carrier Strike Group Twelve, supporting combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan; assistant deputy chief of Naval Operations for Operations, Plans and Strategy; and deputy assistant to the president and director, White House Military Office.
