The first Boeing [NYSE: BA] 787 Dreamliner that will enter into service completed its first flight on Sept. 1, 2011 in Everett, Wash. The airplane followed a route over Western Washington, where it underwent tests for basic handling qualities and engine performance. The completion of this first test flight is another important milestone on the path toward first delivery. The airplane’s delivery to ANA will be celebrated on Sept. 26 in Everett, Wash.
The 787 is an all-new commercial jetliner that brings new efficiencies to airlines and delivers superior comfort to passengers. The airplane features the industry's largest windows, a lower cabin altitude and cleaner air. These features combine to allow passengers to arrive at their destinations more refreshed.
