Boeing and its employees aid victims of Taylor Bridge Fire

SEATTLE, Aug. 22, 2012 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] and the Employees Community Fund (ECF) of Puget Sound have pledged $20,000 to the American Red Cross of Kittitas County to support disaster relief resulting from the devastating Taylor Bridge Fire burning in Eastern Washington near Cle Elum.

 

“Our hearts go out to all the people who have been impacted by the Taylor Bridge Fire. The need is great as people work to rebuild their lives and we are making this donation to help the Red Cross in these efforts,” said Liz Warman, director of Boeing Global Corporate Citizenship for the Northwest region.

ECF of Boeing Puget Sound is an employee giving program that allows Boeing employees to support the needs of their local communities through payroll deductions or one-time gifts. The employee-owned and managed fund makes grants to health and human services organizations throughout Washington State including Kittitas County where it supports the United Way of Central Washington and other nonprofit organizations.

           

Boeing, through its Global Corporate Citizenship organization, has a long history of helping communities across Washington through its support of arts and culture, civic, education, environment and health and human services needs.
