Boeing Makes Rare Double Delivery of 747 Jetliners to Air France

A Boeing 747-400 passenger jet and a Boeing 747-400ER (extended range) cargo airplane stand nose to nose on the flight line at the Boeing plant in Everett, Wash., north of Seattle. Boeing delivered the two jetliners to Air France on the same day -- March 31, 2004. A same-day delivery of a 747 passenger and a 747 cargo jetliner to a single customer is a rare event. Air France, which took the first 747-400ER Freighter produced by Boeing in 2002, already operates 13 747 cargo airplanes and 24 747 passenger airplanes.
