California, Here We Come, by Boeing 777

United Airlines has launched the first trans-South Pacific Boeing 777 service with a daily flight to Los Angeles, from Auckland, New Zealand. The Boeing [NYSE: BA] 777-200ER has 275 seats in three-class configuration and makes the 10,400 kilometer journey in less than 12 hours.

Bidding farewell on the inaugural flight from Auckland June 9 were from left, Bruce Kerr, United Airlines Auckland station manager, Michael Purchon, United general manager for New Zealand, Doug Groseclose, Boeing Commercial Airplanes senior vice president, International Sales, and Bob Lowry, Auckland field service representative for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
