The first Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 destined for Air Algerie departs Seattle's Boeing Field for a test flight. The new jetliner represents the beginning of Air Algerie's planned fleet renewal. The Algerian flag carrier has ordered seven 737-800s and five 737-600s to replace existing 727 and 737-200 airplanes. Deliveries are scheduled to continue through 2002.
